Let’s take a look at how the Telegram Ads advertising platform is used to drive dating traffic to paid “18+” content within the messenger, with traffic processed by an AI bot.
On the spy service https://telegramads.com/de8cf077-0502-426f-be4f-d6ebfa2a81ab we have seen such an advertisement and decided to check where it leads.
Below is an example of the chat that the advertisement leads to. On the outside, it looks like a normal chat with a supposedly real model, but on the inside, it’s a dating funnel with paid photos/videos for Telegram stars.
At first, everything looks harmless: the girl says hello, asks how your night and morning are going, complains that she is lying alone in bed and is bored. The conversation is normal, without links or offers; the goal at this stage is simply to make friends and build trust.
When the user opens up a little and starts playing along, the “girl” texts that she wants to show what she is wearing and sends the first photo in her underwear. Free trigger: to show that the content can be explicit, but without payment for now.
Next, the funnel moves on to monetisation. The girl promises “special” photos “just for you” and sends a paid photo via Telegram stars. If the user delays payment, he is nudged with messages like, ‘You haven’t even opened the last photo,’ and then the girl asks to say directly what the user wants.
After the first purchase, the upsell begins. Instead of a single photo, she offers an entire “exclusive package”, a selection of even more revealing photos, which she offers to sell for stars. At the same time, the flirting continues: the girl asks the user to describe what he is doing and what he is expecting next.
The funnel does not end there. Even if the user does not reply, the girl periodically returns with new content: she sends more photos to warm things up, and then a selection with “unusual” “hot” descriptions in exchange for stars.
A couple of days later, the scenario repeats: a new photo, then another piece of paid content under the pretext of a “surprise” or that the model is “home alone and wants to continue together”.
Essentially, all communication revolves around pleasant dialogue until payment is made to view photos/videos within the chat. There are no actual encounters, only endless billing for another set of photos/videos.
Instead of the usual text, we have sent a JSON request with a piece of code to the chat. But the “girl” doesn’t even try to understand what is written to her. According to the script, she continues to push for the purchase and replies, “You haven’t even unlocked my previous photo, focus on me”.
