The Dutch gambling regulator, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has issued warnings to three influencers for promoting unlicensed online casinos and has threatened further measures, including heavy fines and the removal of content from media platforms.
Stiefunspeelt, Turcos, and Buurtwachtt are well-known Dutch bloggers who actively publish content on YouTube and TikTok. The KSA stated that they posted videos advertising unlicensed online casinos on their social media accounts and ‘encouraged their subscribers to gamble with them.’
Turcos is known to have previously advertised the Skyhills online casino on his Instagram account ‘locos_turcos’ (78,000 followers) and on his YouTube channel ‘LocosTurcos’ (45,000 followers). On 12 June 2025, he posted a story on Instagram with a link to Skyhills.com.
It is known that the KSA had previously sent orders to influencers, but they ignored them. Now, the regulator has ordered influencers to remove all content that violates the rules within 48 hours and to stop advertising unlicensed gambling operators.
In case of non-compliance, the KSA will impose fines of $29,000 for each violation, but no more than $88,000 in total.
“If influencers do not respond to the request to remove content, technology platforms will be involved to ensure that the content is removed as quickly as possible,” the regulator said.
The supervisory authority will also continue to monitor celebrity accounts for future violations of gambling laws.
“The KSA will continue to monitor such violations closely and emphasises that young people must be protected from this type of content related to illegal gambling,” the agency said.
