On 17 November, Sweden’s first trial against 36-year-old Swedish YouTuber Christopher ‘Chrippa’ Berg will begin in Linköping. Berg is accused of promoting unlicensed online casinos and concealing income. He could become the first Swedish influencer to be convicted of advertising illegal casinos.
The trial will last seven days and will be the first application of the Swedish Gambling Act to public figures.

According to the prosecution, Christopher earned about $300,000 from promoting online casinos without a Swedish license through streams and social networks, $175,000 from YouTube, and concealed his total profits through intermediaries.
The prosecutor is seeking a five-year ban on conducting business, the recovery of $104,000 in income from criminal activity, the confiscation of $5,000 in cryptocurrency, and the payment of 40% tax on $475,000. If found guilty on all counts, Berg will face up to six years in prison.
The defendant’s lawyer claims that Christopher’s income came from loans from his family and casino winnings, not from illegal activities.
