Thailand’s Cybercrime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) held a press conference on April 19, 2025 to announce the results of a large-scale operation against a network of online gambling sites with a total turnover of $96.7 million in 2025.
After gathering evidence, the court issued arrest warrants for 31 people linked to the network. Nineteen suspects were detained, including foreigners from China and Indonesia, as well as Thai nationals. Another 12 people are wanted.
Among the sites under investigation are Fun586, Next88bet, Allmewin, Ufafc24, LAGALAXY911, and others.
The operation on one of the sites, Fun586, was initiated after the arrest of three owners. During the investigation, six other suspects were arrested in Bangkok, Songkhla, and Pathum Thani. These individuals were allegedly responsible for opening corporate bank accounts used to launder money and generate funds from online gambling.
The investigation revealed that the network laundered the proceeds by buying gold using corporate bank accounts. The companies were registered under various businesses such as growing legumes or making paper. However, the registered locations were ordinary residences, not actual commercial activities.
