Google is tightening YouTube’s policy on online gambling content: users will not be able to post videos containing ads of gambling sites and apps that are not certified by Google or approved by YouTube from March 15, 2025.
Any links, including those embedded in images, text, or verbal mentions, as well as graphics and logos that redirect viewers to a site or app that has not been approved, will be banned.
Also, content containing images or promotions of online casino sites or apps that do not violate the Community Rules will be under age restriction. If a user is under 18 or not logged in, YouTube simply won’t show such videos (except online sports betting and images of personal gambling).
Videos with promises of “guaranteed winnings” can be removed even from approved online gambling sites or apps. YouTube has previously imposed similar measures against fake medical advice, manipulated AI content, and eating disorder videos.
