How to Promote Gambling on TikTok?

Here’s a guide on gambling offers promotion in TikTok from Naleite Alene.

Hello everyone! My previous articles were mostly about FB but I don’t want to disregard TT as well since it has been one of the largest traffic sources for about two years now. So, I decided to prepare a relevant guide to help you with gambling offers promotion on TikTok.

In this article, you’ll learn:

  • TT account types and their variances.
  • What are TT self-regs: their variances, pros, and cons?
  • What’s required to launch TT ads?
  • Which payment methods work with TT accounts?
  • Do TT accounts require warm-up?
  • Schemes for launching gambling ads on TT.

What Account Types are There on TikTok?

BUSINESS CENTERS. Business Center (BC) allows you to create cabinets and replenish balance from the main account and withdraw or transfer funds between cabinets. Pros: quick cabinet creation and balance replenishment. All GEOs. If the account is banned, you can transfer the funds to another account. This way they will be safe and not otherwise as it is sometimes an issue with personal TT accounts. Cons: Deposit commission fee: from 15% to 25%. At the moment, BC and accounts are banned en-masse. So, all your operations might be suspended for a week or more. Gray verticals are “off-limits” for almost all agencies.

SELF-REGS (PERSONAL ACCOUNTS). These are TikTok ADS cabinets that allow you to drive traffic in parallel with TikTok agent cabinets. The fundamental difference is how you obtain these accounts.

As I noted before, BC contemporaneously became a great alternative to personal TT accounts but flush times have passed, and so the BC permabans started. Today, BCs don’t last long due to stricter moderation, so many webmasters opt for self-regs. Let’s figure out how to work with personal TT accounts.

What’s the Difference Between Various Personal TikTok Accounts?

In terms of features, self-regs and agent cabinets have much in common. Each account has an identical set of tools and targeting settings, but there are some differences worth considering.

  • Some GEOs are unavailable (the list of available GEOs depends on the country of account registration, but some GEOs are only available in agent cabinets, like LATAM, for example).
  • VAT (as with FB when you add a bank card, the solution is simple: register accounts in a country with no VAT).
  • Postpaid & prepaid self-regs. You can guess the difference from the name: with postpaid accounts, you first run ads and spend a fixed amount, and then it is debited to the card account. As to the prepaid accounts – first, you must deposit a minimum of $10, and only after that, you can start an ad campaign.

With self-regs, you are responsible for any circumstances that may occur: you are responsible for incorrect campaign settings, inefficient creos, landing pages, etc. This way, in case the account is being banned for some reason, the chance it will be unbanned is offset. Therefore, you might not want to deposit large sums at once since there is a chance that the account will be banned before you spend the advertising budget which means you’ll lose your money.

What’s the Catch with Personal TikTok Accounts?

Firstly, any person can create a personal account. It is quite the opposite with a BC: few people can afford to create a BC, because it is complicated, expensive, and takes time.

Secondly, you decide what to promote with your self-regs. When working with a BC, you will have to verify the source, offer, and GEO with the BC supplier. Most recently, many BCs restrict traffic in gray verticals (the main reason for that is the strong possibility that a BC will be banned within a shorter period).

Thirdly, you can supervise personal account replenishment and moderation factors, etc.

What will I Require to Launch TT Ads?

  1. Anti-detect browser: I use Dolphin{anty} (I advise you do the same) (get 30% off with the CPARIP promo code). They provide up to ten accounts for free.
  2. TT Ad Account: agent or self-reg (pros and cons of each type are described above).
  3. Means of payment: see below.
  4. Creatives: in this article, I won’t focus on creatives too much. I can only say that creatives that start with a “bank” and “money” always have good CR. They may last less but they provide a higher CR.

Which Payment Methods Work with TT Accounts?

While with BC, the payments issue is not anyone’s concern since you transfer the money to the company that owns the BC, and they transfer your funds to the agent account, it’s a whole different story with self-regs. As of February, webmasters started having issues with payments. Russian cards are no longer valid with FB accounts, only foreign BIN will work.

What are the options?

  1. Any bank card issued outside Russia will work, given you have the opportunity to obtain it (as a rule, this is problematic since many banks require personal attendance but few people will choose to buy a bank card from a drop for fear of being taken in)
  2. I know that PayPal works well and it is much less complicated to bind a bank card (except for Russian ones, of course). A single PayPal account will work with five TT accounts.
  3. Revolut, Capitalist, Wise, etc.

So, we have figured out the issues related to campaign preparations. Now, let’s leapfrog directly to the ad campaign launching process.

Do TT Accounts Require Warm-Up?

Warming up a newly created account allows you to quickly launch an ad for any offer. The first offer you submit for a review must be white. This allows you to seamlessly launch an ad campaign followed by a gray ad campaign as well.

Therefore, you might want to launch the first campaign in the cabinet with a “Traffic” objective specified (a few $ will do) or choose a white offer suitable for TT and run it as a warm-up campaign. After that, you can switch to gambling offers. There’s even a chance that the white offer you’ve picked for a warm-up will provide you with leads, this way, a white campaign won’t run “in vain”.

Schemes for Launching Gambling Ads in TT

1. Google Play Apps

In terms of conversions, Google Play App Ads is a top option. As a rule, these apps are powered by WebView technology but when submitting them for moderation, they use cloaking or other tricks, which allows them to enlist the WebView app in the Play Market. Such apps are eye-catching but they don’t last long. They also take consumables, design development, and time for moderation. Such apps may be linked to only one self-reg account. However, they work very well with agent accounts. To use such apps with self-reg, you need to link and unlink them all the time.

2. PWA Apps

Being a collaboration of a mobile website and a native app, Progressive Web App (PWA) is a product of joint evolution. Although they took all that was good in WebView and represent the regular app from the store (icon, name, mobile version of the website in-app), the so-called web apps are browser links saved on the user’s mobile home screen.

PWAs are unaffected by all that applies to Google Play apps. They represent a mobile version of the product, a web page that cannot be affected by any external factor. Even the app content monitored by the regulatory authority is caching a lot and the cache cannot be reset just like that. Besides, domains are proxied through Cloud Flare, therefore, there are no risks even in case the IP is banned.

3. Onelink

ONELINK is a technology that creates a single link to an app that redirects the user to a specific store and opens the required offer in-app. In other words, it’s a smarter version of a smartlink: the publisher can simultaneously run ads for iOS and Android – ONELINK will redirect the user to the required offer.

Tracking is carried out via the issued URL instead of the naming. This scheme allows you to run ads for conversions on the pre-landing page, while the traffic is forwarded to the Google Play app anyway.

Summary

Thus, when launching gambling ad campaigns in TikTok, you might want to consider all the factors and guidelines I described above. When picking a promotion scheme, you are free to test any options available. I recommend the following: if you work with agent cabinets, then it makes sense to run native (Google Play) apps; if you work with self-regs, then PWA will be the best option. Don’t forget to warm up your campaigns!

If you still have questions related to the topic, I will be happy to discuss them with you in the PM.
