In Myanmar, in the northern part of Shan State, 330 Chinese citizens suspected of online fraud and gambling-related activities were detained, and the relevant equipment was seized.

According to the authorities, the arrests were the result of complaints from residents. Joint security forces conducted aerial surveillance, intelligence gathering, and a sweep of the area. During the operation, law enforcement officers discovered buildings used as scam centres for criminal activities. Among those detained were 321 men and 9 women, all Chinese citizens.
During the operation, 15 buildings with green awnings and 10 structures under construction were sealed off. Two generators, 208 mobile phones of various models, 86 computers, 7 laptops, 23 Starlink devices, and 10 vehicles were also seized.
Authorities stated that the seized items will be processed in accordance with established procedures, and those detained will be brought to justice. The authorities also emphasised that the investigation is ongoing and that the search for the organisers and curators is continuing. Further operations to crack down on such crimes will be intensified.
