The police of Minas Gerais state in Brazil are investigating the activities of two influencers accused of promoting illegal gambling platforms and misleading followers with promises of winnings.
According to investigators, bloggers Pedro Vitor and Aline Cavanellas promoted illegal gambling sites, including the popular Brazilian platform Fortune Tiger (Jogo do Tigrinho). Earlier reports mentioned cases of influencers arrested in connection with Jogo do Tigrinho: https://cpa.rip/news/desfortuna-brazil/.

The couple actively used social media, posting videos with “instant wins” and showcasing a luxurious lifestyle: expensive cars, travel, shopping. However, most of these videos were filmed using demo versions of games that simulated victories to attract more followers. According to police, this strategy created the illusion of easy money and lured followers into illegal schemes.
The investigation, which began on November 11, uncovered suspicious financial transactions totaling around 4 million dollars, as well as information about ownership of at least 15 properties, including luxury homes. Investigators conducted searches and seized assets in three cities: Lagoa Santa, Pimenta, and Divinópolis.
It is currently unknown whether any arrests have been made. Police and representatives of the accused declined to comment.
Similar investigations are underway in other states, with more bloggers appearing in cases involving the promotion of unlicensed gambling sites disguised as advertising contracts or sponsorships.
Many of these sites are registered abroad, including in Malta, which makes them unreachable for Brazilian jurisdiction.
