On October 6, Google released Nano Banana 2.1, a new version of its image generation and editing model that will replace Nano Banana 2 (Gemini 3.1 Flash Image). We tested it by creating various ad creatives.
Nano Banana 2.1 improves image quality and realism, prompt adherence, text handling, and the preservation of character appearance during sequential edits. The model generates images in 1K, 2K, and 4K resolutions. It can also work with 14 references simultaneously: up to four characters and ten objects.
