Facebook Ads has rolled out an updated Audience Insights that shows which audience the ads actually reached.

At the ad set level, you can now view the age, gender, and interests of the users who were shown the ads, as well as what share of the potential audience you managed to reach. Interests are visible even in ad sets with broad targeting where they were not specified at all. There is also a comparison with the overall audience for the past 7 days.

A chart broken down by age and gender has also been added. You can use it to view the overall CTR, cost per result, and reach for each group. The larger the circle, the greater the reach. Groups highlighted in red are those for which FB suggests trying new ad creatives.

However, the chart does not show which specific ad performs better or worse with a particular audience. If an ad set has multiple creatives, it will be more difficult to determine exactly what needs to be changed.
To open the new report, go to the ad set level in Ads Manager, hover over Reach, and open Audience Insights.

For now, the update is not available in all ad accounts.
