Google has updated Merchant Center rules for products with low-quality images. Now, even if an image is blurry, pixelated, or low-resolution, it will not automatically stop the product from appearing in Google Ads and free Google listings.
Previously, products with such images could be prevented from appearing until the advertiser fixed the issue. Now, due to poor image quality, a product will only receive a Low image quality warning but can continue appearing.

At the same time, Google still recommends using high-quality images, since poor photos can negatively affect clicks and ad performance.
Other image requirements remain unchanged. For example, promotional text overlaid on an image or prohibited watermarks can still result in a product being disapproved.
Also, starting January 31, 2027, Google will increase the minimum resolution for product images to 500×500 pixels. The current update does not отменяет this requirement.
