Google has allowed online gambling ads in YouTube Masthead starting October 21, 2026. Previously, the exception applied only to sports betting, but it has now been expanded to other iGaming categories.
Masthead is a large ad unit at the top of the YouTube homepage, available on desktops, smartphones, and TVs. The video plays automatically without sound: for up to 30 seconds on desktops and in full on other devices.
Unlike standard Google Ads video campaigns, you cannot launch Masthead yourself through the ad account. Placement is booked through Google representatives. Two payment models are available: CPM (per thousand impressions) and CPH (per hour of placement).

Placement is available to advertisers certified by Google under its gambling policies. Restrictions based on country, local laws, and user age remain in place.
There is one exception. The change does not apply to advertisers promoting gambling content that does not require mandatory government registration at the national or regional level.
Google also has separate certification requirements for ad accounts. In particular, the domain must be under the advertiser’s direct control, and the account must have a positive history of compliance with advertising policies.
