OpenAI has announced the largest expansion of ChatGPT Ads since launch. Starting next week, advertising in ChatGPT will become available in 31 European countries, including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Austria.
We previously covered the launch of OpenAI Ads Manager in the US. In Europe, the setup will be different at launch: you will be able to launch campaigns through OpenAI Ads Solutions, agencies, and partners. Direct access through Ads Manager is promised for later this summer.
Over the past six months, OpenAI has significantly expanded the capabilities of its advertising platform. In addition to CPM and CPC, it has introduced conversion optimization, geotargeting, and Custom Audiences.
OpenAI Pixel, Conversions API, and third-party integrations are available for measuring results, allowing you to track ad performance beyond standard clicks.
Testing of advertising in ChatGPT began in the US in February 2026. Over the next six months, OpenAI expanded advertising to eight more markets. According to the company, tens of thousands of marketers have already launched ads in ChatGPT.
Ads will be shown only to users on Free and Go plans. Plus, Pro, and Enterprise will remain ad-free.
