Google has started testing a new format for website links inside AI Mode.
For now, the change applies to recipes. In AI answers for cooking-related queries, site cards appear at the top with an image, author, rating, and number of ingredients.
Essentially, Google is trying to make AI Mode more publisher- and creator-friendly by not just providing a ready-made answer inside search, but also immediately showing sources users can click through to.
For SEO, this is an important shift. In AI search, it is no longer enough to simply rank in the regular search results. Getting into blocks inside AI answers will matter more, because this is where users may actually see a link to a site.

For now, the update is narrow and only applies to recipes, but the direction is clear. Google is gradually testing ways to show sources inside AI Mode so that users still click through to websites.
