It seemed like schemes like this had died out long ago, but no. Morgenshtern’s Stories featured a classic “survey” with a roulette wheel and prizes from sponsors.
How the scheme works
On August 14, screenshots of messages saying “I’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time,” “I can hardly believe it,” along with a prompt to visit the profile bio, were posted to the Stories of the verified @morgen_shtern account with 7.6 million followers.

The bio contains a cloaked link to distinctiomolestias.cfd:

If you open it outside Instagram’s built-in browser, it serves a white page, a Wildberries site. Following the link from the profile bio in the app takes you to a “survey,” with magnamet.cfd as the final landing page. Both domains use the .cfd zone and are made up of “lorem ipsum” words.
It promises a “mega prize” of 15,000,000 rubles and asks you to spin a “roulette wheel,” which is actually a three-reel slot. The combination hits on the third try, and the amount comes to 290,750 rubles.

To claim the prize, you only need to pay a “fee” of around 5,000 rubles (the payment will be multi-stage).

Classic 🙂
