It seemed like these schemes had long gone extinct, but no. A classic “quiz” with a wheel and prizes from sponsors appeared in Morgenshtern’s Stories.
How the scheme works
On August 14, screenshots of messages with thank-yous like “been waiting for something like this for ages,” “can’t believe it,” along with a prompt to check the link in the profile bio, were posted to the Stories of the verified account @morgen_shtern, which has 7.6 million followers.

The bio contains a cloaked link to distinctiomolestias.cfd:

If opened outside of Instagram’s built-in browser, it serves a white page — the Wildberries website. Clicking the bio link inside the app leads to the “quiz,” with the final landing page at magnamet.cfd. Both domains are in the .cfd zone and are made up of “lorem ipsum” words.
There, users are promised a “mega win” of 15,000,000 rubles and are invited to spin the “wheel,” which in fact is a three-reel slot machine. The combination lines up on the third try, and the amount turns out to be 290,750 rubles.

To claim the prize, all you need to do is pay a “duty” of 35,000 rubles.

Classic 🙂
